Volkswagen passenger cars have proven very popular among motorists so far this year.
This is the suggestion of new figures released by the carmaker, which showed deliveries of these vehicles to customers increased by 11.5 per cent from January to August in 2012 when compared with the same spell in 2011.
The brand revealed 3.72 million motors were delivered in this period in 2012, building on the 3.34 million vehicles reported for the same timeframe one year earlier.
Such uptake indicates many drivers throughout the UK have been searching for the best Volkswagen deals over recent months.
Indeed, the figures showed a 19.7 per cent year-on-year jump in deliveries in August alone.
Christian Klingler, board member for sales and marketing at Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, noted: "Developments at Volkswagen Passenger Cars remain very stable and the brand enjoyed growth in August, some of it strong, particularly outside Europe."
