We’re fast approaching the end of the school summer holidays and one question that may have popped into your head is ‘what is the coolest car to do the school-run in?’.
That frantic dash to the school gates can be a mega stress so anything that can make you look an eensy bit cooler during the drop-off and collection process can only help, right? Correct, and thankfully, those super-helpful guys at vehicle valuers HPI have just listed what they think are the perfect school-run cars.
Unsurprisingly, it’s a list packed with high-riding and super-spacious SUVs and right at the top of the list is the Jaguar F-Pace.
Following it is the Range Rover Evoque, Volkswagen Tiguan and the Audi TT – the only car in the list that isn’t an SUV – with the BMW X1 completing the top five.

Derren Martin, HPI’s head of current valuations, commented: “With the return to school imminent after the long, hot summer, we thought it would be fun to look at some of the makes and models of cars that can give the ultimate feeling of school gate cred.
Mr Martin explained how his team of editors looked at every type of model, including some range-topping supercars and crazy concept cars, before settling on more realistic and practical vehicles that would actually appeal to parents whilst retaining some wow factor.
“The Jaguar F-Pace just edged it in our editors’ poll ahead of the Evoque and the Tiguan,” he said.
“With its iconic Jaguar heritage in a popular SUV body style, the F-Pace is sporty and compact yet relatively affordable. The popularity of SUVs shows no sign of letting up and manufacturers are pulling out all the stops to make sure their models turn heads.”
