Skoda enjoys strong 2017

Skoda has had a strong 12 months and increases its share of the UK new car market.

The automaker increased its share to 3.14 per cent, compared to 2.98 per cent in the previous year.

A total of 79,758 units were sold by Skoda, with the Octavia model leading the way with 20,493 units sold – consisting of 9,435 hatchbacks and 11,058 estates.

Behind the Octavia, was the Fabia with 19,272 units registered – 14,757 hatches and 4,518 estates.

Skoda’s Kodiaq, which went on sale in April, has already enjoyed a strong sales record, with 6,664 registrations since launch.

Duncan Movassaghi, director of Skoda UK, said: “These figures demonstrate yet again the phenomenal momentum Skoda is enjoying in the UK.”

He added: “Interest in Skoda cars is at a record-high. Customers have long recognised Skoda as a brand that delivers great quality at outstanding value for money. Now, with strong design featured on our new models, we are attracting more new customers than ever before.”

Skoda is also planning to increase sales further in 2018 with the launch of the all-new Karoq.
