Mazda hoping SKYACTIV appeals to business drivers

Mazda has announced it will be taking some of its most popular models to this month's Fleet Show, showing business users why many car buyers are choosing the company for their new car deals.

The expo will see the Japanese automaker shine-up its multi award-winning SKYACTIV technology models, which means the all-new Mazda3, the current fleet favourite the Mazda6 and the ever popular Mazda CX-5 will be on display at the world famous Silverstone complex in Northamptonshire on April 9th.

Fleet drivers, reps and company execs will be able to take the cars to both the Grand Prix and Stowe racing circuits, while a more real-world driving experience will be provided by test runs on the local roads around the Silverstone complex. Design experts and corporate sales teams from Mazda will be available to discuss the companies range in further detail.

Steve Tomlinson, Mazda's head of fleet, said: "The introduction of SKYACTIV technology has delivered a fleet renaissance for Mazda. Fleet operators and company car drivers alike are looking to save money and SKYACTIV technology in the all-new Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 enables them to do just that.

"Our fleet focus over the next 12 months remains on raising awareness of the three models in the corporate sector and enabling decision-makers to experience the benefits of SKYACTIV technology."

Mazda has seen its sales to regular car buyers soar with the introduction of efficient SKYACTIV technology and the KODO Soul of Motion design ethos and the company feels there is no reason why the same principles will not appeal to business users. Indeed, fleet sales expanded by more than 80 per cent towards the end of last year and the manufacturer is looking to build on its ten per cent market share in 2014.

Corporate demand for the all-new Mazda3 is expected to be particularly strong, given the introduction of the 2.2-litre 150ps SKYACTIV-D model, which is Euro6 emission compliant and returns an exceptional 72.4 mpg and has emissions from just 104g/km.
