Eco-conscious drivers could find good Volkswagen deal

Volkswagen deals may be in demand among environmentally-aware motorists following the launch of a new campaign.

The car manufacturer is aiming to encourage more sustainable practices in the automotive industry in order to reduce the sector’s impact on the planet.

Volkswagen has therefore launched the Think Blue initiative, which echoes the successful Think Small campaign in the 1960s.

Luca de Meo, head of marketing at Volkswagen Passenger Cars, commented: "Our goal is to establish Think Blue as an expression of our corporate mindset and a firm feature of the Volkswagen brand’s ecologically sustainable activities."

He said the company has deliberately opted to use an international slogan, as the issue of climate change affects the whole world and is not affected by national boundaries.

Mr de Meo added that the campaign is in line with Volkswagen’s core values of innovation and responsibility.

However, a recent study by the AA found that only 15 per cent of drivers would purchase a car because it offers strong green credentials.
