Fiat reduces carbon emissions

Drivers looking to reduce their carbon footprint may be drawn towards Fiat deals after the manufacturer’s green credentials were acknowledged.

According to JATO, Fiat has achieved a greater reduction in the carbon dioxide emissions of its vehicles than any other manufacturer in the last year.

Andrew Humberstone, managing director of Fiat Group Automobiles UK and Ireland, has hailed the significance of the findings.

"These are important figures as they show not just the environmental impact of one or two of our cars, but the whole range," he commented.

Mr Humberstone said every Fiat car that is purchased is making its own contribution to cutting carbon emissions and making Europe a cleaner place to live.

Fiat said the achievement has come about partly because it has aimed to raise awareness of green issues among motorists.

The company recently unveiled its Fiat 500 Multijet model, which was hailed for its improved fuel consumption and reduced carbon emissions.
