Ford LCV vehicles meet European emissions standards

The engines used in Ford's light commercial vehicle range (LCV) have met the Euro Stage V standards for emissions.

Those interested in Ford deals will be delighted to hear that the engines will provide better fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.

Ford's new 2011 FiestaVan now comes with improved engine power as the 1.4 litre version has additional 2PS of power at 70PS and the 1.6 litre version has had its power increased for 90 to 95PS.

Mark Simpson, marketing director, Ford of Britain, said: "Despite a tough business climate, Ford FiestaVan sales are up 40 per cent this year. This work towards maintaining class-leading low cost of ownership is how we try to make the Ford range the one that British businesses choose."

The Ford Transit Connect has also been improved with customers benefitting from the van's best fuel economy to date.

Ford's new Duratorq TDCi Stage V engines include a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) with vaporiser technology that collects over 95 per cent of all engine soot emissions.

When the DPF is full the new vaporiser technology heats it to 600oC to turn all the soot into CO2 and water in a process known as a regeneration cycle.

Ford recently revealed that its C-Max customers would benefit from lower running costs due to improved residual values, lower insurance costs and enhanced fuel economy.
