Ford releases new integrated satnav system

Leading car manufacturer Ford has revealed a new satellite navigation system that integrates with the rear view mirror.

In news which may interest those considering Ford deals, the new system which is available now is located alongside the rear view mirror allowing drivers to check their satnav while looking in the mirror.

The 'Mirrornavi' system is mounted without any visible wires and car be fitted to most Ford cars in around an hour by a local dealership.

MirrorNavi is made by Garmin and Wollnikom and includes a 3.5-inch touch screen colour display, an internal destination memory and maps and voice response for more than 70 countries and languages.

The product avoids the restricted viewing caused by other devices and does not leave suction cup marks on the windscreen which the company believe will discourage burglary.

Insurance companies have confirmed that the device will be defined as an integrated navigation system for their purposes.
