New Fords include blind spot detection

Drivers looking for new Ford deals may be tempted by the S-Max model after the manufacturer developed an innovation to help motorists avoid problems with their blind spots.

The S-Max and Galaxy will now come with Ford’s Blind Spot Information System as an optional extra.

Dr Torsten Wey, Ford’s driver assistance technologies supervisor, explained that it is easy for motorists to lose sight of vehicles when they move into a blind spot.

"With its distinctive warning light, this system helps drivers to think twice before switching lanes or changing direction without checking their blind spot, hopefully preventing a collision or a near miss," he commented.

The system even works at low speeds, making it ideal for driving in busy cities at rush hour.

Motorists seeking new Ford deals may now be more tempted by the S-Max and the Galaxy after the additional feature helped to boost their safety.

The manufacturer recently announced an increase in its market lead in the UK, boosted by the availability of new Ford deals.
