New Vauxhall Astra scoops prize

New Vauxhall Astra deals may become more popular among consumers after the model was honoured at an awards ceremony.

The vehicle was named Best New Car at 2010 Fleet World Awards, after judges stated it has a very impressive build quality.

Chairman of the judges Steve Moody said the car is good to drive, spacious and well-specified for business customers.

Maurice Howkins, UK fleet sales director for Vauxhall, noted that new Vauxhall Astra deals have been popular among motorists for 30 years, so the launch of a new version of the famous model is a big event in the motoring calendar.

He said: "The Fleet World Honours accolade gives us even greater confidence in all new Astra’s ability to serve the fleet sector."

Van drivers may also be attracted to compare new Vauxhall deals after the carmaker scooped a separate award for one of its commercial vehicles.

The Vauxhall Movano was named the Best New Van at the Van Fleet World Honours.
