Vauxhall Ampera to take pride of place at festival

Leading car manufacturer Vauxhall will take its groundbreaking Vauxhall Ampera to a festival held in the gardens of Clarence House, Marlborough House and Lancaster House.

Those looking for Vauxhall deals may wish to attend the weeklong festival entitled A Garden Party to Make a Difference which is claimed to be the longest royal garden party ever held.

The party will bring together the most exciting and innovative group of eco cars around at the moment to celebrate and promote sustainable living as part of The Prince of Wales' start campaign.

Founder of Mulberry and long-time champion racer of historic cars Roger Saul will host the event with Kevin McCloud, presenter of Grand Designs and eco-housing developer.

The event will provide the perfect opportunity for Vauxhall to showcase its new Ampera electric car which has a 350 mile range and the company believes will be one of the decade's most revolutionary cars.

"I am delighted to be able to welcome visitors into my gardens, and those of my immediate neighbours, for this exciting festival," said the Prince of Wales.

Nissan's first completely electric car, the Nissan Leaf, will hit UK shores early next year.
