New Volkswagen deals increase market share

New Volkswagen deals are becoming a more popular choice for van drivers in Britain, with the manufacturer announcing it has increased its market share to more than ten per cent.

It stated that almost as many vans were sold in March 2010 as it did in the first three months of 2009 put together, when it only had a market share of 2.4 per cent in the commercial vehicles market.

Van drivers may also be attracted to compare new Volkswagen deals after the manufacturer won an award for one of its commercial vehicles.

The Crafter, which is the biggest van made by Volkswagen, was awarded the title of Best Large Van at the Van Fleet World 2010 Honours.

Van Fleet World magazine’s editor John Kendall said: "The Crafter has taken this award for the last few years and now with Euro5 engines out in the past year, it does much to consolidate the van’s position."

This comes in the same month that the carmaker launched a new version of its popular Golf model.
